Everything you need to know about installing cPanel

cPanel is the most popular hosting control panel in the web hosting industry. One of the many reasons why it is so popular is due to its straightforward and easy installation process. Below we outline how to install cPanel.

Before you begin:

Prior to installing cPanel, ensure you have Fresh CentOS 6 or 7 installed and up to date on your server or virtual private server (VPS).

1. Log in

Via the SSH Client, log in to your server or VPS.

2. Enter command

Copy and paste

"cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://securedownloads.cpanel.net/latest && sh latest"

into your SSH Console and click enter.

3. Wait

The cPanel installation has now begun, before proceeding to the next step you may need to wait between 15 to 25 minutes for the cPanel to finish installing.

4. Complete installation

You will know once the installation process has completed as you will be greeted with a message. The message, for example, may say “Congratulations, your installation of cPanel and WHM has been successful.”

Submit your nameserver domain. For example, ns1.InsertNameHere.com or ns2.InsertName.com.

12. Finish

To complete your cPanel installation, simply click the ‘Finish’ button.
