When a VPN actually earns its keep
Public and shared Wi-Fi
Hotel, airport, cafe and campus networks are shared with strangers and often poorly maintained. A VPN wraps everything leaving your device in an encrypted tunnel, so whoever else is on that network sees traffic they cannot read. Yes. We operate a strict no-logs policy, which means we do not track, log or store your online activity. There is no browsing history attached to your account, so there is nothing for us to lose, sell or be compelled to produce.
How many locations are there, and which protocols are supported?
There are currently 57 locations across 45 countries, and the full list is published on this page rather than hidden behind a signup. Connections use OpenVPN (UDP and TCP), IKEv2 and L2TP/IPsec, all fully encrypted, on servers with 1 and 10 Gbps ports.
Is this a personal VPN or a VPS that I administer?
It is a ready-to-use personal VPN, not a server you manage. You install the client, sign in and choose a location. There is nothing to configure or maintain at the server level. If you would rather run your own VPN on hardware you control, you want a UK VPS instead.
Will a VPN slow my internet connection down?
Slightly, and unavoidably. Your traffic is being encrypted and routed via another city, so it has further to travel. In practice the difference on a nearby location such as London or Amsterdam is small enough that most people do not notice it during normal browsing or streaming. Connecting to the other side of the world will always cost you more latency than connecting to the other side of the country.
Which devices and operating systems can I use it on?
Windows, macOS, Android and iOS are all covered by our client apps, and because we use standard protocols you can also connect from Linux, routers and anything else that speaks OpenVPN, IKEv2 or L2TP/IPsec. Up to 10 devices can be connected at the same time on one account.
Can I change location as often as I like?
Yes. Location switching is unlimited and included. There is no daily cap and no premium tier of "better" servers. Pick a different city as often as you want.
Is my internet traffic encrypted?
Yes. Everything travelling through the tunnel is encrypted using industry-standard protocols. This matters most on networks you do not control, such as hotel, airport and cafe Wi-Fi, where other people on the same network would otherwise be able to observe your traffic.
Is P2P and file sharing allowed?
Yes, P2P is permitted and bandwidth is unlimited, so large transfers are not throttled or capped. That permission covers lawful use only. Our acceptable use policy and UK copyright law still apply, and a no-logs policy is not an invitation to ignore them.
What does it cost, and are there any add-ons?
