Choosing a plan

Which plan suits your WordPress site

WordPress itself is light. What decides the plan is how much of your traffic reaches PHP and the database uncached, which is mostly down to WooCommerce, logged-in users and heavy plugins.

Your server arrives with WordPress installed and serving. Five steps take it from your server’s IP address to your own domain.

Log in to WordPress

Your admin username and password are saved on the server. SSH in, read them, and sign in at your server’s IP followed by /wp-admin.

Point your domain at it

Add an A record for your domain pointing at your server’s IP address, wherever your DNS is managed.

Switch the site address

In Settings, General, change the WordPress and site addresses from the IP to your domain.

Turn on HTTPS

A free certificate in front of the site. Ask our team and we will set it up with you.

Add caching and backups

A caching plugin for speed, and a WordPress backup plugin alongside the weekly server backups for a busy site.

WordPress on a VPS, answered

What is a WordPress VPS?

A virtual private server with WordPress already installed on it. You get the ease of logging straight into WordPress, with a server of your own underneath: dedicated vCPU and RAM, full root access, and nobody else’s sites competing for resources.

Do I need a VPS for WordPress?

Not always. A new site or a small business site runs very well on shared WordPress hosting with cPanel. A VPS makes the difference once you run WooCommerce, have lots of logged-in users, host several sites, or want root access to tune the server.

Is a VPS good for WooCommerce?

Yes. Checkouts, baskets and account pages cannot be cached, so every shopper uses PHP and the database directly. Dedicated vCPU and RAM keep those pages quick on your busiest days. VPS 3 with 4 GB is a sensible starting point for a store.

How many WordPress sites can I run on one VPS?

As many as the server has room for. You can switch on WordPress Multisite, or use your root access to add separate sites alongside the first. If you want to manage lots of sites through a panel, choose a control panel such as CyberPanel or HestiaCP at checkout instead of the WordPress app.

How much RAM does WordPress need?

1 GB is the minimum for our one-click install, and every plan from VPS 1 has at least 2 GB. 2 GB suits a blog or brochure site, 4 GB a WooCommerce store or a few sites, and 8 GB a busy store or an agency workload.

Is it managed?

We manage the server: uptime, hardware, network and help getting your site on your domain. WordPress, its plugins and updates are yours to run, which is what gives you the freedom. If you would rather all of that was handled, shared WordPress hosting is built for it.

Is SSL included?

Yes, a free certificate. Your site arrives on the server’s IP address; once your domain points at it, our team will set up HTTPS with you, or you can add it yourself.

Are backups included?

Every plan includes free weekly backups of the whole server. For a busy site or a shop, add a WordPress backup plugin as well for daily copies of your content.

Can I move my existing WordPress site across?

Yes. Most sites move with a migration plugin: export from your old host, import on the new server. Open a ticket before you start and our team will help you plan the switch so your site stays online throughout.

Can I change the PHP version or add Redis?

Yes. You have full root access, so PHP settings, Redis object caching and any other server software are yours to choose. It arrives on PHP 8.3.

Is there a contract?

No. Monthly billing with no minimum term and no exit fee, with longer terms available if you want the discount. New customers get 50% off the first month.
