Many of our customers use the WordPress content management system for their website designs. We asked some of them why they chose this particular system. Here’s what John Boyd had to say about his use of the software for his bytheway.scot website:

I use WordPress for my Podcast and Audio Services website.  I make Narrative Documentaries about Scottish subjects, which I prefer to think of as, “Radio on the Internet”.  I see listeners from across the world, which tells me my content is interesting with the very highest audio standards.

I use the “2017” WordPress theme because it still does everything I need of it.  My posts are presented on one page and they are easily formatted with a variety of simple image format choices.  I use an initial paragraph and an embedded Libsyn player followed by the “read more” link to my full post, which allows visitors to stream an episode at once and to get background information at their leisure.  I use the sidebars and dedicated pages for information and occasional promotions.  Altogether, I find it a simple and effective package.

I’ve been with Calico since their very early days and I don’t foresee a change.  When I set up my first WordPress site I found their support and the development facilities they offered were invaluable. The customer service and personal attention I’ve had over the years is outstanding.

I began using WordPress for an Outside Catering business.  Without physical premises for customers to visit, I used WooCommerce as my shopfront.  This combination, hosted by Calico, allowed me to offer complex products and pricing structures, which grew me a successful business.
