How to install cPanel?
Everything you need to know about installing cPanel
cPanel is the most popular hosting control panel in the web hosting industry. One of the many reasons why it is so popular is due to its straightforward and easy installation process. Below we outline how to install cPanel.
Before you begin:
Prior to installing cPanel, ensure you have Fresh CentOS 6 or 7 installed and up to date on your server or virtual private server (VPS).
1. Log in
Via the SSH Client, log in to your server or VPS.
2. Enter command
Copy and paste
"cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://securedownloads.cpanel.net/latest && sh latest"
into your SSH Console and click enter.
3. Wait
The cPanel installation has now begun, before proceeding to the next step you may need to wait between 15 to 25 minutes for the cPanel to finish installing.
4. Complete installation
You will know once the installation process has completed as you will be greeted with a message. The message, for example, may say “Congratulations, your installation of cPanel and WHM has been successful.”
5. Open WHM
Use the link https://your-server-IP-here:2087 to open WHM
6. Enter username
Submit your username root in the designated username box or field.
7. Enter password
Repeat the step above, but place your root password in the password box or field.
8. Submit username and password
Confirm and submit your username and password by clicking the login button.
9. Read the agreement
An agreement and other legal digital documents will now appear on your screen. Before you accept the agreement by default, ensure you read through the agreement. Only click accept once you are confident you are happy with the agreement.
10. Set up an email
Enter your email address. Ensure you submit an email address you use regularly as you will be sent cPanel related alerts and updates via this email.
11. Set up nameserver
Submit your nameserver domain. For example, ns1.InsertNameHere.com or ns2.InsertName.com.
12. Finish
To complete your cPanel installation, simply click the ‘Finish’ button.
Congratulations! Your cPanel installation should now be 100% complete. Now your cPanel is installed, you will be able to change the setting of your cPanel and customise your cPanel, such as by installing a firewall.
