Many of our customers use the WordPress content management system for their website designs. We asked some of them why they chose this particular system.
On the North East Highland coast, Estuary View is built from two cottages cleverly combined to make a large self catering space with several rooms beside the beach and harbour. We are lucky that this offers unique and fantastic views of Sutherland’s Moray Firth coastline running up the NC500 route towards Caithness along the miles of sandy beach we have here in Brora.
We were introduced to WordPress by our website developer Tony Tracey at Partnership Solutions who keep the WordPress system up to date and the content fresh. Tony has been looking after our websites for over 10 years now, 1/2 of this time with WordPress. He introduced Calico’s WordPress to help him keep our site up to date, responsive and working with the latest devices and phones. It seems a lot of the big new tourism sites are using WordPress now – all we know is that enquiries come through and with our other online booking sites they help fill up the year.
Last year (2020) was challenging with COVID cancelling travel and bookings for much of the year but Tony showed us that we actually had more traffic to our WordPress website than 2019 with a big rush of visits in July to October – we had to turn away several enquiries as we were booked as much more interest was showing for later into the year when COVID lockdown was releasing.
Estuary View really is in a super location in Brora so we’ve used some aerial shots on the WordPress website to show just how lovely the situation is. Not only do we have the view but it is only a short stroll to the gift shops and a busy Co-op. Anyone reading this who wants to stay, just give me a ring on 01408 621375 or email – [email protected].
