WordPress is a free content management system that simplifies the design and creation of websites. We thought you might like an insight from some of our customers as to why they chose it for their sites. Here’s what David Duguid of Picaresque Books had to say:

Picaresque Books & Galerie Fantoosh started out some 10+ years ago as a hobby that grew and grew. A one man band dealing in second hand books only and selling at book and antique fairs only with a stock of around 200 books. We now have a shop in Dingwall High Street, a second hand book stock of approx 8000 books with the addition of New books in stock and available to order. Plus our gallery side consisting of Original paintings, prints and other framed art. A selection of jewellery, pottery, glass and other gifts, with a range of great cards and other stationery.

When Covid 19 struck and we were asked to close the shop temporarily, we took the view that our first grant money should be used to develop our new web site. This we did with the help of Calico and The Apprentice Store in Inverness. The Apprentice Store predominately works with WordPress as they believe it offers the best balance between price and functionality for their clients. They are also happy to work with clients’ chosen hosting service if they already have a preferred supplier.

Developing a new site has taken time, especially as both Cath and I are really technophobes! But we are getting there and the site is expanding all the time with new titles and products being added.
