John and Wendy Cowpe use a WordPress website to promote their self-catering holiday cottage, Keeper’s Cottage at Skeabost Bridge, near Portree, Isle of Skye. The characterful former gamekeeper’s cottage offers cosy accommodation for up to four people and is dog friendly. It is ideally located for touring the island with its beautiful scenery, diverse wildlife and fascinating history and culture.

As well as providing a valuable “shop window” for the business, the WordPress website also has an easy-to-use system for managing bookings, communicating with clients and publishing visitor reviews.

The site uses the Pro theme from Themeco. This theme boasts easy page layouts, allowing you to go as complex (or simple) as you like. You can select your column layout and configure as needed. Pages are created using drag and drop, and you can chose from dozens of pre-built elements or build your own.

For bookings, John and Wendy use the HBook plugin “Bookings made easy for the hospitality business” and the Testimonial Showcase which allows you to create and display testimonials, quotes, reviews or case studies in multiple ways.
